Former INMA researcher Javier Bonet Aletá has been awarded the Best Doctoral Thesis Prize by the CSIC Nanomedicine Connection and the Specialized Group of Colloids and Interfaces of RSEQ and RSEF. His groundbreaking work, titled “Nanoparticle–Driven Novel Cancer Therapeutics: Catalysis for Homeostasis Disruption,” represents a significant advancement in cancer treatment research. The doctoral thesis, conducted within the Nanostructured Films and Particles research group under the supervision of Prof. Jesús Santamaría Ramiro and Dr. José Luis Hueso Martos, focused on developing innovative nanomaterials. These materials are designed to be selectively activated within cancer cells, effectively inhibiting tumor growth.
Dr. Bonet is currently continuing his research career as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, where he continues to contribute to the field of nanomedicine.
This recognition highlights the outstanding research being conducted at INMA in the field of nanomedicine and its potential impact on cancer treatment.
